1.1	When I download the game, dreamms.exe is deleted	Turn off Windows Defender by going into Windows Security > Virus & Thread Protection > Under Virus & thread protections settings. Click on Manage settings. > Real-time protection (off). Don't forget to turn back on. 1.2	How do I change the resolution of my client?	Open Widget Manager from the UI and toggle between resolutions in the Client Mods tab.

Client errors

2.1	d3dx9_43.dll was not found	Download and install the latest DirectX Runtime libraries: https://www.microsoft.com/en-au/download/details.aspx?id=35
2.2	Client doesn't launch	Download and install Visual C++ Redistributable: https://www.techpowerup.com/download/visual-c-redistributable-runtime-package-all-in-one/ To install, place all the files in a folder and run install_all.bat
2.4	Invalid Pointer or weird symbols instead of text in-game/portals don't work properly	Set your system locale to English (US) (Untick unicode) https://www.tenforums.com/tutorials/132050-change-system-locale-windows-10-a.html
2.5	DLL class not found	If setting your system locale to English with unicode unticked causes this problem, make sure your game file path does not contain a different language.
2.6	How can I reset my Dream MS Client Mods settings to default?	Run DefaultSettings.reg in your game folder
2.7	Unspecified error	Check your monitor's refresh rate. Ideally you want it to be the highest possible and at least 60hz
2.8	Crash when accessing widgets, selecting character, changing resolution or accessing fullscreen mode. Changing resolution or entering fullscreen mode does nothing.	Close any third party game launchers running in the background (check Task Manager). Eg. Steam, Riot Vanguard, Blizzard, and sometimes also Discord. These game engine's anticheat system interfere with MapleStory.
2.9	Unable to access in game widgets	Turn off MSI Afterburner/Rivatuner
3.0	Client doesn't launch or client freezes after starting up	Follow solution 2.2 above

• Dream.ini settings are now preserved across patches
• Widget window sizes, positions and settings are now preserved across sessions

How do I change the resolution?

Open Widget Manager from the UI and toggle between resolutions in the Client Mods tab.​

How can I reset my Dream MS Client Mods settings to default?

Run regedit, go to HKEY_CURRENT_USER > Software and delete DreamMS​

Might have to do a fresh re-install if you made sure your exclusions were sent for your Windows Defender and Antivirus.

Hi. I just started today, and come to find some items like arrows/bolt and monster cards and medals i cannot drop or it freezes my client, no error. Tried deleting the registry, didn't do anything.
On a second note, my patcher won't run, says I need .NET. And I know i have it from other things i've done over the years.

It usually probably won't. Your case sounds almost like a corrupted .wz file.
You can try to delete the .wz files and running the patchers to reinstall those files.
It's also good practice to ensure you have the proper Microsoft Visual C++ runtime environments. Section 2.2's link will provide you with the updates you need.

I can't see how they are corrupted. It unzipped fine, i re extracted and still the same. re downloaded,m still the same. If they are corrupted its the goggle drive files. But i spoke to someone in game, they got the google drive file too, and they don't have this issue. I can say 99% it's not the files. There's something else going on I think.

So I ran the patcher, and briefly for a split second saw it say Failed patching. Sooo basically i think that means something else is wrong and it's not my files. But it makes no sense, the game works fine, just untradeable items and arrows and monster cards i can't drop, or i freeze. I''m assuming there's nothing I can do to fix this, since no one else has probably had this problem.

This problem would have also made me not able to farm the Marbas shoe and gloves, but i got lucky and got perfec stats first drops. So when i make another character and farm these gloves and boots, it'll be impossible to drop the current one to farm a better stat one.

I've also already had all these runtimes packages. They didn't do anything. Something else is going on.

Also trying to drop wizard potions feeezes me too, so it seems its random items.

EDIT so, I just tried to dropped horny mushroom tops(i dropped some earlier and was fine), and froze. So I'm thinking some sort of connection problem, but i don't lag, i don't get disconnected or anything. Just items going wonky randomly

So i think I found the answer to this. I dropped by habit, but in FM, and nothing froze me, so i think i just have to drop stuff in the FM and i should be fine. So far it seems to work everytime
The only thing i'd have to test is if i can goto FM at the class boss maps, otherwise i can never farm the equips

I try running DreamMS, but it says cannot proceed because DreamMS.dll was not found. How can I fix this?

Getting "Update Process Failed!" at around 50% trying to do a first install. Have deleted the files and tried again. This was using the "Patcher (64-bit)"

As the log mentioned, it failed due to corrupted files. Probably a good idea to make an exclusion/exception folder on your Windows Defender and Anti Virus and download and extract the zip version from Mega or Google drive. (Links on the the dreamms home page)

I had gone back to ensure Windows Defender had made the exception but that turned out to not be the issue.

In the end I tried the google drive version and this appeared to have worked without any issues.

I have just downloaded according to the instructions but I still get Gr2D failed screen mode and "unspecified error" even though my refresh rate is 60+ not sure what to do.

Sometimes it's caused by mismatching dual monitors and sometimes a pc restart will fix it. Try the PC restart first.

hey when i try to login i get an error "this ID has been deleted or blocked please try different ID"

I have try to download newest dream version for my fr's laptop but when i clicked to the dreamMs icon still have this issue. "the application was unable to start correctly 0xc00007b".
